Fatter & Evans Architects, Inc. won the “Best New Construction” award from the TDA for work completed on the Bastrop Convention Center. This particular award recognizes excellence in new construction in downtowns or commercial districts and signifies the tremendous impact of the Bastrop Convention Center on the local economy of the City of Bastrop.
The Bastrop Convention Center contains 26,000 square feet of meeting, special event, weddings, and tradeshow space. The location was selected to revitalize a historically industrial area of the downtown district. The design elements of stone, wood and tin reflect the aesthetic of the surround environment including the industrial area of the downtown district and historical railroad industry. Green building practices include a rainwater collection system, energy efficient HVAC units, highest rated building insulation, and energy saving lighting.
